Why do some suppliers use such tiny labels on vials

Only if you use a cheap pen. If you use a proper lab marker it stays put through multiple swaps.

Some labs use a label maker and just wrap a clean barcode right over the factory one. Might be worth doing if you keep ordering from them.

I started using a permanent marker to write a big letter on the cap lid as soon as I open the package. Saves me from ever trying to read the tiny side print again.

It is the domestic warehouse that uses the blue stripe on the box. Their purity is solid for my assays but the packaging layout drives me crazy.

That cap marker idea is actually super smart. Does the alcohol wipe during sanitizing rub your writing off the cap though?

Are you talking about the generic clear glass vials or the painted ones? I always struggle with the silver foil tops reflecting the overhead light too.

Which vendor is this out of curiosity? I want to check if my recent batch from them is the same style.

Honestly the worst part is when the text completely rubs off during transit inside the bubble mailer. Then you have a mystery vial on your hands.

They are the clear glass ones with the gloss finish. The flashlight trick helps a little bit but it still strains the eyes big time when you have ten vials lined up.

For real though some of them look like they were printed on a home printer from 2004. Have you tried shining your phone flashlight from the side?
