I track every single reconstitution in a spreadsheet and my recovery consistency is identical whether I use one mil or three mils.

That is a huge variable you are looking at there. Higher concentration solutions definitely have slightly different surface tension properties in the vial.

I always use two mils for math ease but honestly never thought about volume changing the physical behavior of the solution.

That is exactly what caught my attention. Surface tension and how completely the lyophilized cake dissolves initially seem to shift depending on the liquid volume.

You guys are overthinking basic chemistry. Water is water and a solute is a solute as long as it fully dissolves volume does not change the physics.

Lower volume definitely wets out faster because the liquid contacts the entire pellet surface quicker before breaking apart.

Faster wetting does not mean better results though. Sometimes rushing it creates foaming if you add the liquid too fast.

It completely changes local saturation rates during the first few minutes of mixing which affects uniform distribution before complete diffusion happens.

Do you notice any difference in how long the cake takes to wet out completely between those volumes?
