So my research subject which is a very hungry lab rat I mean very hungry has been exhibiting increased appetite. I am using a new peptide compound you know for research purposes only never for human consumption obviously and it seems to have turned my already food motivated rat into a bottomless pit. I am not complaining really because a hungry rat is an easy rat to work with. They will do anything for a pellet. But I am starting to wonder if this is an expected side effect of this particular compound. The literature review I did was a bit sparse on this specific observation. Has anyone else noticed this with their research subjects? I am just trying to gauge if my rat is an outlier or if this is something to factor into future experimental designs. I am using a relatively standard dosage for its weight. My lab budget is taking a hit though. I might need to start a GoFundMe for rat chow. Just kidding mostly. Any insights would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
