Anyone else finding research peptide solubility super tricky sometimes?

Man, I swear sometimes it feels like I am back in organic chemistry lab with some of these research compounds. I just got a new batch of something I have worked with before, same vendor, same everything. But this time it just will not go into solution properly. I am using my usual sterile water for injection, following all the steps, and it is just cloudy. Not like, a little cloudy, but really visibly cloudy. I have tried gently warming it, letting it sit for ages, even flicking the vial a bit (gently, of course, for research purposes). Nothing. It is just sitting there looking like a science experiment gone wrong. This is so frustrating because now my whole research timeline is off. Has anyone else run into this? Is there some trick I am missing for really stubborn peptides? I am worried about wasting this whole vial if I cannot get it dissolved correctly. It is not like I can just shake it vigorously, right? That is a no no for these delicate compounds. I am just venting here, but also genuinely looking for any tips or tricks from people who have more experience with these finicky compounds. This is for research use only, obviously, not for human consumption.

Could it be the water batch? I have had issues where a new lot of water for injection was slightly off pH and caused solubility problems with certain peptides. Might be worth checking if you have another source.

Oh man, I totally feel you on this one. I had a similar issue with a different compound last month. Ended up just letting it sit in the fridge overnight after gentle swirling and it finally went clear. Sometimes time is the secret ingredient.

For me, I did a very slight warm up, just holding it in my hand for a few minutes, then straight to the fridge. No aggressive warming. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip! I will try letting it sit longer. I usually try to get it done within an hour or two but maybe it just needs more patience. Did you do any warming at all or just straight to the fridge?

Seconding the pH idea. Some peptides are super sensitive to even minor pH shifts. If you have pH strips or a meter, a quick check of your water could rule that out. Also, what about the peptide itself? Is it a particularly long or hydrophobic one?
