Have you tried introducing more fiber rich foods into the research subject's diet? Sometimes that helps with satiety even if the hunger signals are strong.

I wonder if there is a psychological component too. If the subject anticipates food more often it might just be a learned behavior on top of the peptide's effects.

It is a novel ghrelin mimetic. So yes increased hunger is expected but this is next level. Like it is trying to eat the research facility itself. I am half expecting it to start eyeing my lab coat.

Could it be a metabolic increase? Some peptides can really ramp up energy expenditure. More energy burned equals more fuel needed right?

Fiber is a good call. Also maybe a slow release protein source? Something that keeps them feeling full for longer periods.

That is an interesting thought. We do try to keep the environment as consistent as possible but you never know what subtle cues might be picked up. Thanks for the suggestions everyone I will look into the fiber and slow release protein.
