It is frustrating for sure. I have been there. Just keep at it. Sometimes it is a matter of finding that one obscure paper that cracks the code.

Yeah, what protocol21 said. Detailed logs are key. Also, are you sourcing from a consistent supplier? That can make a huge difference in purity and thus effect.

Totally get this. Research compound X is notorious for its individual response variability. Are you keeping detailed logs of all your parameters?

I disagree about the time of day being a major factor. For my research, it was always more about the subject's baseline metabolic state. Fasted versus fed, for example.

Perhaps try a different administration route if applicable to your research. Sometimes bioavailability changes things dramatically.

I found that with compound X, the time of day of administration made a difference in my observations. Have you tried varying that?

I am keeping super detailed logs, almost obsessively so. And yes, consistent supplier, always. That is why I am so baffled. It is like the compound has a mind of its own.

Sometimes with highly variable compounds, starting with a very low dose and titrating up extremely slowly can help. It is tedious but can reveal patterns.

Interesting point salthands. I never considered the baseline metabolic state as a primary variable for compound X. I will add that to my notes.
