Totally agree. I once had some BPC 157 that felt 'off' and the COA showed like 92 percent purity. Switched vendors, got 99 percent, and the research effects were much more consistent. It really does make a difference.

I have seen some COAs that are clearly just templates or even fake. How do you verify the COA itself? Any red flags to look for?

Honestly, I think people overstate the purity thing a bit. For basic research, 95 percent is usually fine. Are we really seeing massive differences in outcomes with a few percentage points difference?

I respectfully disagree with that. Even small impurities can have significant biological activity, especially with sensitive assays. Why introduce variables if you do not have to? Higher purity always means more reliable data.

Yeah, I am with protocol21 on this. If you are trying to isolate specific effects, you need to be as sure as possible about what you are administering. It is about controlling your variables.

What about the 'other stuff' though? Sometimes the impurities are known and benign, sometimes not. That is where a good COA explaining the impurities is super helpful.

Exactly, coldworks95. A COA that just says '98 percent pure' without detailing the other 2 percent is not as useful as one that breaks it down. Transparency is everything.

Good question, titration_pdx44. One red flag is if the COA looks generic or does not have specific batch numbers matching your product. Also, if a vendor only provides in house COAs, that is a yellow flag for me. Third party is always best.

I think it depends on the peptide and the research goal. For something super well studied, maybe a little less purity is okay. But for novel compounds, absolutely go for the highest you can get.
