Why I stopped trying to read HPLC printouts after three beers
Posted by protocol88 in COA and Purity Testing
So I was looking over a fresh certificate of analysis for a vial of tirzepatide last night while having a few drinks and telling myself I am basically a real scientist now. Big mistake. I stared at the peak integration graph for twenty minutes trying to figure out why the numbers looked like ancient runes before realizing I had the PDF upside down on my tablet screen. Peak purity was totally fine at 99 percent according to the lab report but my own brain integrity was testing out at around zero.
Turns out trying to cross reference mass spec data with third party testing validator sites while listening to true crime podcasts does not make you Walter White. It just gives you a headache and makes you paranoid that your kitchen counter scale is plotting against you. Note to self from now on analytical chemistry reviews happen strictly before noon and strictly without alcohol involved.

Upside down tablet viewing is a classic lab technique you are way ahead of your time bro.

Did you actually verify the lab ID on the registry or just trust the PDF logo?

Yeah wait did the testing facility actually exist or was it some random gmail address?

I checked it this morning stone cold sober and thankfully it checked out legit so my amateur hour mistakes did not cost me this time.

Appreciate the support I am basically pioneering peer reviewed slapstick at this point.
