Why does everyone just blindly trust third party HPLC tests anyway

I see so many researchers posting certificates of analysis like they are holy scripture. Every single batch on some of these supplier boards comes back at ninety nine percent purity according to the lab reports. Are people actually verifying the testing facilities or just looking at a pretty PDF file and assuming the powder is legit. It feels like marketing disguised as science at this point. A lot of these labs have generic addresses or use equipment that is not even calibrated for the specific compounds being tested. I am planning to send a sample of my current vials to an independent analytical lab just to see what is really going on because the blind faith in these certificates is getting wild.

Make sure you check the batch numbers on the report against the actual vial laser etching too. I caught a mismatch once.

Spot on analysis. Most of those reports look like they were generated in paint by someone who wanted to move inventory.

Are you planning to use mass spec or just standard HPLC for your independent test

Going for full mass spec because HPLC alone just tells you peak area not what is actually making up that peak.

People want to believe the numbers so bad that they ignore basic red flags on the paperwork.

That will definitely cost a pretty penny out of pocket though. Is it really worth the expense for personal peace of mind
