COA frustration is real man

Seriously, I just got a new batch of a peptide for research and the COA is just... minimal. Like, barely any detail. I know we are all doing research here, but it feels like some suppliers just slap a label on it and call it a day. I mean, I want to trust what I am getting. My experiments depend on it. When the purity numbers are vague or missing, it makes me question everything. It is not like I can just run my own full spectrum analysis in my garage. Anyone else feel this way? Or am I just being overly critical? It is just a hassle when you are trying to maintain consistency across multiple trials and the starting material is a question mark.

Totally get it. It is like buying a car and they just tell you it has 'wheels'. We need more info than that.

Sometimes you just gotta trust your gut. Or, you know, your HPLC machine if you have access to one.

My gut usually tells me to eat pizza, not to trust a sketchy COA. But seriously, it is a pain.

I once got a COA that was clearly a screenshot from another product. Had to laugh, then cry.

I usually look for a third party lab report. If they do not have one, I move on. Too much risk otherwise.

Yeah, but even third party reports can be gamed. You have to be careful. It is a wild west out there.
